Bridges to Hope Grand Opening
April 23rd marked an exciting milestone for Arundel House of Hope as we celebrated the grand opening of our newest transitional housing program, Bridges to Hope.
The ribbon-cutting celebration brought together community members, local government officials, state delegates, and representatives from Anne Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS) to celebrate with us. Guests heard from County Executive Steuart Pittman, Councilwomen Allison Pickard, ACDS CEO Erin Karpewicz, and our very own Executive Director, Mario Berninzoni. After the ceremony people were invited to tour the house, enjoy refreshments, and talk to staff members.
The journey to opening Bridges to Hope began when we purchased the property in 2025 with support from county grant funding. The aging property underwent a complete renovation, transforming it into a welcoming and accessible space designed to support residents as they take important steps toward self-sufficiency.
At Bridges to Hope residents have access to intensive support services, including employment assistance, adult education, sobriety support, health referrals, counseling, and individualized goal planning. Each resident works closely with a case manager and resident manager to develop a personalized action plan focused on building stability and preparing for the future.
The transitional housing program serves up to eight men at a time. Participants may remain in the program for several months up to two years, depending on their needs.
