About the Warming Center

The Warming Center provides a safe space during the night to people who are unhoused when the weather gets dangerously cold. The Warming Center operates in partnership with the Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management.

During the winter, the Office of Emergency Management determines which nights the weather will be dangerously cold or harsh and will instruct the Warming Center to open. On those nights, Arundel House of Hope opens its Resource and Day Center from 6:00pm to 7:00am. The Warming Center is open to anyone who needs to get out of the elements.

History of the Warming Center

The Warming Center at Arundel House of Hope began in the winter of 2022-2023 in partnership with the Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management.
